Haystack Mountain Trail is the easiest to hike between March and November.
If you're planning to reach the top of the mountain, be prepared to spend the day on the trail. This five-mile hike is rated intermediate and has an elevation of 1010 feet.
Head to Green Mountain National Forest to pick up the trailhead.
The trail is also ideal for going on a nature walk or birdwatching - two other great ways to experience Vermont!
One of the things that makes this trail so special is its diverse landscape. This includes wildflowers, tons of foliage in the fall, and stunning views when you summit.
No matter what time of year you visit, there's also a feeling of mystic and intrigue when taking the trail through the forest.
Be prepared to work your leg muscles when you meander up Haystack Mountain Trail.
Since the trail is a bit rocky at times, make sure to wear comfortable hiking shoes too.
