There’s a Little Slice Of Paradise Hiding Right Here In Utah…And You’ll Want To Visit

Did you know that there's an 80-acre slice of paradise right in Salt Lake City? It's a place where people go to spend time with family, relax, play and exercise. It's where community comes together, school children gather for field trips and Utahns of all ages go to enjoy a bit of outdoor paradise, year round. It's even listed on the National Register of Historic Places!

Liberty park was created in 1881, and designed to be similar to New York City's Central Park.

The large pond is a habitat for ducks, geese and other birds.

In the spring, visitors enjoy watching baby ducks and geese learn to swim.

A jogging path circles perimeter of the park.

One of the best things about this park is its huge trees, which provide plenty of shade on hot, summer days.

The park even has wifi!

The Seven Canyons Fountain offers a unique place for kids to play and cool off.

Each of Salt Lake's canyons are represented here, with waterfalls and "rivers" for kids to wade in and explore.

You'll find picnic tables throughout the park. Some even have built-in board games!

Large, open spaces are perfect for kite flying, soccer and just general frolicking about.

The mountain views are gorgeous.

On the west side of the park, you'll find the tennis center, swimming pool, basketball and horseshoe courts.

The Rotary Playground has a splash pad, swings and areas for both toddlers and older kids.

There's a second, smaller playground in the northeast corner of the park.

The Rice Terrace Pavilion is perfect for hosting family reunions and parties.

The rides are open from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. every day.

The Chase Home Museum of Utah Folk Arts sits in the middle of the park.

The home was built more than 150 years ago, and now houses this unique museum.

The museum includes tons of unique folk art from around the state.

Exhibits include the Native Folk Arts Gallery, Ethnic Folk Arts Gallery and Occupational Folk Arts Gallery. The museum also offers workshop space.

Tracy Aviary is also inside the park, in the southwest section.

The aviary is home to many species of birds, including pelicans.

It offers plenty of education and entertainment opportunities.

The aviary is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily (closed Thanksgiving and Christmas).

Liberty Park is the perfect place to sit and relax...

Liberty Park is located between 9th and 13th South and 5th and 7th East in Salt Lake City.
