You Haven’t Lived Until You’ve Experienced This One Incredible Park In Utah

Utah is such a big state, with so much to do, that it's easy to miss some of its hidden gems. Frontier Homestead State Park is one of those gems. Check it out!

Frontier Homestead State Park is located at 635 N. Main Street, Cedar City.

The park focuses on the history of Utah's mining and iron processing in its early years.

Brigham Young sent missionaries and settlers down to the Cedar City area during the 1850s.

The buildings reflect that early time period, and contain artifacts that help visitors imagine what life must have been like during that time.

The park has several mining artifacts around the grounds, too.

The park also has a large collection of horse-drawn carriages.

While you're there, you can pan for gold...

...learn to rope a calf...

...and see how the pioneers entertained themselves before the invention of cellphones.

See a real working loom, and buy one of the rugs produced on the loom in the gift shop.

Docents display crafts from the time period.

These volunteers are easy to spot - they're dressed in period clothing and are ready to answer all your questions.

Visit the park in the winter, too. It's beautiful with a dusting of snow.
