This Secret Summer Wading Pool Is An Oasis Within A Texas City Park
Granbury City Beach Park in Texas offers a tropical-like oasis with crystal-clear water, white sands, and various recreational activities.
Texas may have one of the longest coastlines in the nation, but not everyone lives near it. If you happen to reside further inland, there's a beautiful oasis hiding within a city park that's calling your name. Located in the historic town of Granbury, about 90 minutes away from the DFW metro, Granbury City Beach Park features crystal-clear water, white sands, and thatched-roof pavilions that will make you feel as if you're on a tropical vacation.
An unsuspecting oasis in the heart of the city, Granbury City Beach Park will quickly become one of your new favorite summer swimming spots.
You'll find it on East Pearl Street in Granbury.
Situated on the shores of Lake Granbury, the park features its own beach with some of the whitest, most pristine sand you've ever seen.
You can swim, kayak, or simply kick back with your toes in the sand and soak up the sun.
Visitors can enjoy a beach volleyball court as well as kayak, paddleboard, and bike rentals.
There's also a spray park for the little ones, plus clean public restrooms and several picnic pavilions.
Just like a "real" beach, the sand is full of seashells in every size, shape, and color imaginable.
Don't forget to bring a pail so you can collect some to bring home!
The pavilions boast thatched roofs that'll transport you straight to the islands of Hawaii while also offering shade from the intense Texas sun.
You'll want to arrive early to ensure there's one vacant, however, as availability is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Even better, the park is conveniently located right next to a new Hilton hotel, and the historic downtown square is within walking distance.
Take a break from the water and grab a bite to eat or do a little shopping, then head back to your room for some much-needed R&R.
Address: 505 East Pearl Street, Granbury, TX 76048.
Admission is free, and hours are 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. (or sunset - whichever is later) daily.
