Pulaski State Park and Recreational Area is a part of the larger George Washington Management Area, which tallies 4,000 acres.
Since we're all trying to stay cool during those scorching days of summer, Peck Pond is the place to go first during your visit.
Don't forget your beach towel or chair, sunscreen, and snacks.
Stake your spot on the sandy shore that leads into the 13-acre lake, a popular spot for families with kids.
The tiny lake generally has lifeguards on duty to help ensure everyone's safety. Stay within the ropes around the swimming area, too.
The park also features a picnic pavilion and picnic tables. Bring a picnic along for a leisurely meal and to keep your energy up for a day of swimming.

The state park features a hiking trail that will take you over a fairy tale footbridge, past a waterfall, and back to the pond.
