Meander Through Shady Woods Along The 2.9-Mile Les Pawson Loop Trail In Rhode Island For An Unforgettable Outdoor Adventure

Drenched in natural beauty, the scenic trail leads you through shady woods and an almost fairy tale-like setting that’s sure to win you over. Even better, it’s picture-perfect in all four seasons, and you’ll definitely want to hike it in each one.

Carve out at least an hour for your journey along the Les Pawson Loop Trail, which wanders 2.9 miles through Lincoln Woods State Park.

The trail is rated easy and boasts pavement and asphalt throughout. With a width of around eight feet, it’s popular with hikers, bikers, strollers, and adventurers in wheelchairs.

However, there are some slight grades along the predominately flat trail, which may pose some challenges for those with a stroller or in a wheelchair.

Benches dot the scenic trail, making it easy to stop to take a breather and admire the views. Cars do pass by on sections of the trail, so take care.

Lather on the sunscreen and the bug spray before setting off, and make sure you have plenty of water, especially during the summer months. The trail can get hot and humid, so be prepared.

You’ll pass such natural scenery as Quinsnicket Pond and unique rock formations during your trek. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, including sunning turtles, too.
