Train lovers young and old will love this amazing journey from Hood River to Parkdale. Travel through woods, orchards, and vineyards on this scenic trip that shows you the best that Oregon's natural beauty has to offer.
Starting in Hood River, the train trip is 4 hours roundtrip, including a stop to disembark in Parkdale.
Passing by Mt Hood, you get several glimpse of the mountain, and plenty of picture-taking opportunities.
The trip features narration on its first leg of of the journey, introducing you to some of the history of the area.
With plush, comfortable seats, you will enjoy every bit of the train chugging along the tracks.
In Parkdale, you will have the opportunity to walk around for a bit, or eat a lunch in the park catered by Apple Valley BBQ.
After lunch, you will pull off to your final destination back in Hood River.
In the heart of the Fruit Loop, you will pass by many pear and apple orchards, giving you plenty of eye-candy to keep you entertained.
If you have kids with you, bring a board game and sit on the lower level with tables so that you can stretch out and really enjoy the slow trip.
The Mount Hood Railroad operates trips Fridays and Sundays from June through the end of October. Starting July 6th through August 31, it also offers Thursday trips.
