Take A Magical Waterfall Hike In Ohio To Raven Rocks Falls, If You Can Find It
Discover the hidden gem of Raven Rocks in Ohio, featuring a moderate loop trail with stunning cliffs and a secluded waterfall.
Just when you think you've explored all Ohio has to offer, you realize there's something new to uncover.
There’s nothing like stumbling upon a little-known waterfall. It feels like you’ve uncovered a best kept secret, or you’ve found a peaceful sanctuary that few people know about. Hiding deep in the lush, green forests of southeast Ohio in Beallsville, you’ll find a little-known waterfall and hiking area known as Raven Rocks.
Privately owned and operated, this little-known nature preserve is a true hidden gem few Ohioans know about.
Raven Rock is described as "a symbol of the natural world here and everywhere, a natural world that has inspired generations with its beauty while providing them and us with the very basis of our existence," according to the Raven Rocks website.
The .4-mile loop trail that's open to the public is rated as moderate by AllTrails. You'll find the trailhead along Crum Road.
Note: Since the trail follows a creek and dips into a gorge, it's common for the area to be muddy. Come prepared!
With towering cliffs and majestic rock formations, this hiking spot is truly breathtaking. It's well worth seeking out.
A short but beautiful hike, this loop trail is perfect to take when you need a little adventure in your life—but not too much.
Since this is a moderately rated trail with some climbing involved, we don't recommend bringing small children.
And be sure to wear comfy shoes!
The waterfall along this trail is undeniably the best part. It's both secluded and little-known, so you likely won't encounter a soul.
Please note: Pets are not permitted at Raven Rocks, so leave your furry friends at home this time.
Depending on how much rainfall the area has received, the flow may be more powerful at different times throughout the year.
Don't forget your camera!
