Tucked away in one of the Cleveland Metro Parks, you'll find this fairytale-like landmark. It's unexpected and really neat to explore.

Within the North Chagrin Reservation, you can take a 2.2-mile loop trail that leads right to Squire's Castle. The trailhead is located at 2794 River Rd., Willoughby 44094.

You can explore the outside and inside of this gorgeous structure, which was modeled after German and English baronial castles.

Squire's Castle dates back to 1890 and was a labor of love, built by Feargus B. Squire. He was one of the founders of the Standard Oil Company and wanted to build the castle for his wife.

Sadly, the castle was never finished, due to the death of Mr. Squire's wife.

Cleveland Metro Parks purchased the property in 1925. Today, the public can explore what is left of the incomplete structure.

Some locals speculate that the castle is haunted. One legend claims the ghost of Mrs. Squire haunts the castle grounds after nightfall.

Whether or not you believe the castle is haunted, however, it's undeniable that it's beautiful to explore—no matter the season.
