If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind beside some gorgeous water, New Orleans is a great place to live. There are some amazing walks that you can take throughout the city that are right by some of the most beautiful waters of the city. We think you're going to love these walks.
1) Mississippi River Levee Uptown
Start your journey at Riverbend, where St. Charles and Carrollton Ave. meet and you can continue to stroll down with amazing views of the River and even spy the last gasps of the batture.
2) Bayou St. John
If you find yourself in mid-city, stroll along the paths that line Bayou St. John, or hop on to the bike lane that starts after the Wisner overpass and go all the way to the lake!
3) Big Lake Footpath, City Park
This short trail along the big lake of City Park is home to the infamous singing oak of New Orleans, a chime filled tree that will absolutely charm you!
4) Crescent Park
The new walking, biking, and jogging trail at Crescent Park gives views of Downtown New Orleans and the Mississippi River like no other.
5) Moonwalk New Orleans
Take a stroll along the riverwalk right in the heart of New Orleans downtown and enjoy the waters and numerous gorgeous sculptures that line the area.
6) Jean Lafitte National Park
A little farther afield, you can take a stroll on the swamp trails here that give you covered paths over some gorgeous bayous and of course the opportunity to see some local wildlife!
7) Lakeshore Drive
For sunsets and sunrises like no other, head out to Lake Pontchartrain with the one you love and stroll along the waters as you soak up all the lake has to offer.
8) Bayou Sauvage
Go out to the east to this park and stroll on one of the trails that leads you through the amazing marshes here.
