This Easy 0.6-Mile Trail In New Mexico Is Covered In Wildflower Blooms In The Springtime

Springtime is a wonderful time to head outdoors and enjoy the warmth and sunshine. Not only that but there are wildflowers to enjoy as well. If you want to take a wildflower hike in New Mexico this spring, head to the Elena Gallegos Picnic Area/Albert G. Simms Park. You won't be disappointed!

Located within the Elena Gallegos Picnic Area/Albert G. Simms Park near Albuquerque is a trail you can take to see wildflowers during the spring.

The Pino Trail Short Version is a 3.3-mile out-and-back trail with a 616-foot elevation gain. It's rated as easy so feel free to bring the kids along!

This is also a dog-friendly trail so long as your pup is on a leash.

Late March is an optimal time to hike along the Pino Trail. While the ground may still be a bit wet after the snowmelt, flowers will be in bloom.

Among the plants and cacti you may see in bloom during your spring hike are the Apache plume, Chamisa, cane cholla cactus, and soapweed yucca.

Kids and adults alike will have fun identifying the wildflowers along the trail. They're oh-so colorful!

Not only will you be able to see a variety of wildflowers along this trail but also sweeping views of the surrounding landscape and the Sandia Mountains. It's truly breathtaking!
