Welcome to Sitting Bull Falls Trail! While there are quite a few trails in this area of the Lincoln National Forest, this easy hike leads you to one of our best swimming holes, that's complete with a beautiful waterfall.
This short, half-mile hike leads you to the Sitting Bull Falls Recreation Area. Although this hike is short, it's a bit rocky, so make sure to bring comfortable shoes.
Along the way to the springs, you'll find breathtaking views. It's often very hot out here, so make sure to wear a hat.
Once you get to the end, you'll find Sitting Bull Falls. These beautiful streams are situated in a canyon high above these natural pools and fall 150 feet down below. Not only are they refreshingly cool, but they're absolutely gorgeous.
This is the perfect place to take a dip on a hot New Mexico day. There are multiple natural swimming holes, often cascading into one another. Sitting in pure nature is absolutely beautiful.
The Sitting Bull Falls Recreation Area offers picnic tables, restrooms, and a pavilion, so you'll be set for the entire day.
