The pool is located in Santa Rosa, which sits about 115 miles east of Albuquerque via Interstate 40.

Blue Hole has been a popular swimming destination for decades, thanks in part to its crystal clear, deep blue water and cool temperature that naturally stays at 62 degrees.

The swimming hole is actually a bell-shaped pool that extends down 80 feet and connects to an artesian well.

Between the 1950s and late 1960s, this swimming hole served as a fish hatchery but you wouldn't be able to tell just by looking at it.

The Blue Hole has since transformed into one of the top swimming and diving destinations in the country, bringing thousands of visitors to the otherwise sleepy little town each year.

The Blue Hole can be found on the eastern outskirts of Santa Rosa, just off Interstate 40 and historic Route 66.
