You Might Not Like These Predictions About Nebraska’s Cold And Snowy Upcoming Winter

Nebraska's 2023-2024 winter is predicted to be extremely cold, with communities coming together to embrace the season.

It doesn't matter who you are - the weather is always a topic of conversation here in Nebraska. We've all got a lot to talk about these days since the Old Farmer's Almanac recently released their long-range forecast for 2018-2019...and you may not like what it says about this coming winter.

According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, which uses a time-tested mathematical system for predicting the weather far into the future, this winter is set to be long, cold, and snowy.

Here in Nebraska, the season will start out mild, with more rain than snow.

However, we'll start seeing some major snow in late November. Precipitation will be well above normal that month. We'll see higher-than-normal amounts of snow in January through March, as well.

The temperatures will vary widely, as they tend to do in Nebraska. Along with the increased precipitation in November will be higher-than-normal temperatures, but in December it will become markedly colder.

The steep drop will mean that December and February are expected to be especially frigid, but January may give us a short reprieve with slightly milder temperatures.

Overall, you can expect this winter to be rainy, snowy, and bone-chillingly cold throughout. Winter will have a hard time letting go, too - it is expected to extend even past the official beginning of spring.

So be sure to get your snow shovel, boots, and a heavy coat ready. We're in for a long and frigid ride.
