We've got some really gorgeous scenery in Nebraska. After all, we have eight State Parks and five National Parks. From our famous Great Plains to our rolling Loess Hills, we've got a surprisingly varied landscape. The types of environment certainly may differ across the state, but one thing the entirety of the Cornhusker State has in common is its beauty. One majestic park in Nebraska's southwest corner is Chadron State Park. No matter the time of year, it's worth a visit.
Chadron State Park was actually the first state park to be established in Nebraska, way back in 1921. The park sprawls over 974 acres and includes some of Pine Ridge and Chadron Creek.
The park is filled with beautiful ponderosa pines and cottonwood trees. You never know what kind of wildlife you'll run into here!
This is such a great place to unwind. You'll feel a million miles away from all your stresses. Getting to enjoy the beautiful sights of Nebraska's majestic scenery is a true blessing.
If anyone ever tells you Nebraska's a boring state, show them a few pictures from here! Looking at the sapphire sky and endless hills makes you wonder how anyone could live anywhere else.
There are some activities to enjoy here, like horseback riding or paddling through the creek. Guided trail rides are offered at the park as well.
This place is truly magnificent all year long.
It's easy to think of Nebraska as fairly flat (we are part of the Great Plains, after all!), but a place like Chadron State Park shows you we have a surprising amount of mountainous terrain here!
