Kansas City is known for its fountains, but there's a lot more to see here than our nickname. There's a hiking trail hidden near Kansas City that's full of wonder and otherworldly beauty. The 3-mile trail sits inside the Parkville Nature Sanctuary, one of the most beautiful places around.
Unfortunately, you can't bring your bike or your furry friends on today's trip. However, you might want to bring a walking stick, because this trail gets a little steep sometimes.
If you hadn't noticed by its namesake, there are often deer spotted in the area, so be sure to step lightly if you're going to be snapping photos!
Our favorite part of this trail is the waterfall, which looks this gorgeous year-round, I promise.
In fact... have you ever heard of a fire hydrant in the middle of a forest? Me neither. But there's one on this trail, so we'll just go along with it.
Altogether, this waterfall surrounded by forested beauty doesn't make you feel like you're near Kansas City, so it's great for a day away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
This amazing hiking trail is one of the Kansas City metro area's best natural landmarks, so here's 9 more you should see and explore!
