Visit Minnesota’s Montissippi Regional Park For Lovely Hikes, Playgrounds, And Views Of The Mississippi River

The Land of 10,000 Lakes is home to many fun parks! Of course, our state has 67 state parks that offer amazing views, trails, and camping areas. But there are many smaller parks to discover as well. In Monticello, many people enjoy visiting the little-known Montissippi Regional Park. Here, visitors find lovely hikes, playgrounds, and views of the Mighty Mississippi. Montissippi Regional Park is a lovely park in Monticello, Minnesota. It's right on the banks of the Mississippi River, offering plenty of riverside recreation in a pretty setting.

Many enjoy coming to Montissippi for its paved hiking trails. There are more than 2 miles of paved trails through a lovely mixed forest.

If you're looking for a more rugged hike, you can find that here too. The unpaved trail is short - about 1/3 mile - but it offers even more beautiful views.

If you take your time and are quiet, you can even catch glimpses of the wildlife that lives within the park! Many bird and insect species have been spotted, as well as white-tailed deer.

Of course, you'll also have plenty of opportunities to enjoy the river. There's a boat launch where you can put your boat out for a river cruise or an afternoon fishing. Many also fish right from the dock.

If you visit with kids, they. may enjoy the large playground area, complete with swings, slides, tunnels, and more.

There's even a shady volleyball area, a disc golf course, and a canoe campground!

Top off your visit with a picnic in the beautiful picnic area shaded under lovely hardwood and pine trees.
