Frolic Through A Stunning Sunflower Field In Minnesota At The Afton Apple Orchard Flower Festival

If you’re anything like us and you love vibrant blooms, then this Minnesota flower festival is for you! Every year, toward the end of August and the beginning of September, Afton Apple Orchard, near Hastings, MN, hosts its annual Flower Festival – just as its fields of sunflowers and zinnias are at their peaks. Some folks have said it’s one of their favorite summer festivals in Minnesota and we can’t disagree. You don’t want to miss this colorful flower festival in Hastings, Minnesota.

Afton Apple Orchard is located on the bluffs above the St. Croix River, about halfway between the St. Croix River town of Afton and the Mississippi River town of Hastings.

Toward the end of summer, the orchard hosts its annual Flower Festival.

Visitors are invited into the sunflower fields to roam, explore, and simply soak up the beauty.

And also to pick a blossom or two.

But you're not limited to sunflowers. The orchard also boasts zillions of zinnias, as well.

And they, too, are there for the picking.

As the Flower Festival often overlaps with the start of the fall apple harvest, you may find a little extra entertainment at the orchard, like a petting zoo.

Kids will also love the massive playground - so, if flowers are not their thing, they can entertain themselves while you enjoy the blossoms.

Agritainment in the Land of 10,000 Lakes just doesn't get much better than this!
