Hemker Park & Zoo is a fun attraction in Freeport, Minnesota.
Open since 1977, it's been a destination for Minnesota animal lovers for decades.
Many love coming here for the park's unique animals.
There are many mammals, including camels, kangaroos, llamas, zebras, monkeys, and more.
Reptiles, birds, and amphibians are also heavily featured.
Similar to seeing other Minnesota zoo exhibits, you can experience macaws, penguins, tortoises, snakes, frogs, and even a tarantula! How's that for an adventure!
Aside from the regular animal displays, Hemker Park & Zoo also has several animal experiences.
One of the most popular is the ability to feed giraffes.
For a very nominal fee per person... .
..you can climb up on a platform overlooking the giraffe area...
...and wait for one of these tall creatures to come by!
They'll take food right out of your hand! They love to eat!
