Michigan isn't especially known as a mountainous place, but we are blessed with at least one such magical destination: the Porcupine Mountains in the Ontonagon area of the Upper Peninsula.

There are so many reasons why this is a prime destination for hikers, campers, and photographers alike. Hikers can enjoy some 87 miles of hiking paths to explore. The Porcupine Mountains State Park offers ample camping opportunities. And the best part is, you don't have to leave the state for all this.
