Enjoy A Long Walk At This Underrated State Park In Michigan
Michigan is a place so beautiful that it's hard to overstate. From rolling hills to endless plains to cliffside beaches, there's a little something for everyone around here - and if you know about all the best places, you'll never get bored. Amazingly, Michigan is home to 103 state parks - and you know what this means. On one hand, you'll never run out of nooks and crannies to explore. On the other, some places are bound to slip through the cracks. Take the awesomeness that is Orchard Beach State Park. This stunning state park in Michigan is calling your name.
With more than three and a half miles of beautiful trails winding through the park, you could walk around forever.
It really is the perfect place for a nice, long stroll, if you're feeling up to it.
Orchard Beach State Park is situated on a 100-foot-high bluff overlooking Lake Michigan.
It used to be that you could take the beautiful steps pictured above to access the beach, but in 2019, it was decided that the erosion thanks to high water levels was too much, and the beach was closed off to visitors.
Not to worry, though - the views are still utterly amazing, and that's what most of us came for anyway.
I can't imagine a nicer way to enjoy the outdoors.
Should you decide you don't want to leave any time soon, no worries - there are campsites located across the little peninsula that makes up the park itself.
There are 166 sites to choose from, and this place might be a hidden gem, but it's much-beloved by those who know it exists - so plan ahead!
Honestly, one of my favorite things in the whole world is a walk outside.
And when you're walking around pretty much anywhere in Michigan, it's bound to be beautiful - but most especially the state parks.
Sure, you can't go down to the beach for now...
...but one day, that closure will likely be lifted.
Until then, there's the entire rest of this amazing park to explore and enjoy.
I'm pretty sure you'll fall in love with Michigan's beauty all over again.
