The best pumpkin patches in Michigan revive vivid memories of walking through the fields so I could find the one that made the perfect jack-o-lantern. It’s hard to go wrong with any of the local farms in Michigan, but a few have really made a name for themselves throughout the years. Here are seven of the best pumpkin patches near me.
1. Getzloff Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch: Wilson
This farm in the Upper Peninsula is great for family outings. Other Michigan pumpkin patches feature a corn maze, but this is one of the best we can find in the UP. It's open on Fridays from 4-8 p.m. and on weekends from 10-8 p.m. Discover more on the Getzloff Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch website.
2. Jacob’s Farm: Traverse City
Anyone who grew up in Traverse City knows about this awesome place. The staff offers a fantastic fall season with apple cider donuts, live music, and a massive corn maze. It’s a great place to pick up your pumpkins if you’re around Northwest Michigan. The fall season takes place Sept. 2 through Oct. 31, 2024. The hours are Wednesday and Thursday 3-8 p.m., Friday 3-9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-9 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
3. Fleming Farm: Gaylord
If you love to hang out at the petting zoo, Fleming Farm is a pumpkin patch you’ll want to visit. It's also host of the local county fair so the staff is accustomed to crowds and loves visitors. You can even watch the feeding of the sheep herds with some of the extra pumpkins that don’t turn into Halloween decorations. Look for updates on the Fleming Farm Facebook page.
4. Johnson’s Pumpkin Farm: Saginaw
As you can see, this is a place that takes its pumpkin patch seriously. However, you'll also find tons of other fun for the whole family, including two corn mazes, concessions, and a petting zoo. There's even a craft store where you can buy a memento to take home with you. It's open from Sept. 7 through Oct. 31, 2024, on Monday from noon-7 p.m. and 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
5. Morse Brothers Farm: Comstock Park
You’ll find all the pumpkins you can handle at Morse Brothers Farm. You'll find tons of other gourds too for those looking to round out their decorations that celebrate fall in Michigan. Keep this location in mind for some great strawberry picking in the springtime. For dates and times, check out the Morse Brothers Farm Facebook page.
6. Barbott Farms and Greenhouse: Stevensville
This is where you can find beautiful fresh-cut flowers during the spring and summer and beautiful gourds and pumpkins during the fall. You’re welcome to pick your own out on the patch or find one that you love inside the charming country store. Fall 2024 sales begin after Labor Day weekend and end on Oct. 30. The doors are open daily from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. from July 1 through Oct. 30. Find further details on the Barbott Farms and Greenhouse website.
7. Blake’s Orchard and Cider Mill: Armada
This farm is getting a little more regional attention thanks to its line of Blake’s Hard Ciders. I’ve even used them to make some delicious apple bread. You can use the pumpkins from here to make some serious pumpkin pie as well. See where the brand started by visiting from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 8 a.m.-9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

To further explore the beauty of autumn, take one of these fall foliage road trips. One of my favorite things to do after carving pumpkins is to bake the seeds for a great on-the-go snack. It might just hit the spot when you're on your way to one of these great locations. If the extra work isn't for you, check out our guide for some great road trip snacks while you're on the go.
