The Connecticut River is a mighty river that isn't only the longest in our state, but all of New England. If you grew up in the Bay State, there's a good chance you've driven over this massive river in Pioneer Valley or a tiny town or two. While it's easy to take this beautiful river for granted since we see it so often, it's good to slow down and take it all in. Let's stop for a minute and highlight the amazing Connecticut River in Massachusetts.

This massive river starts at the Canadian border and empties in the Atlantic Ocean in Connecticut, but along the way it passes through some of Massachusetts' most beautiful towns.

Pioneer Valley is the most well-known part of this river in Massachusetts. The most populous area of this valley is Springfield, and many travelers seek out this portion of the river.

No matter which part of the Connecticut River you seek out, it's amazing to see our longest river in person. Be sure to bring a camera, because the photo-ops are second to none.
