Massachusetts Has A Brand New Shark Center On Cape Cod

White sharks have long been misunderstood due to how they are portrayed in the media. Atlantic White Shark Conservancy (AWSC) is a non-profit group with a mission to educate the public about these giant fish as well as public safety. In 2022, an informative shark center in Massachusetts opened. Located in Provincetown, the Shark Center is where you can learn all about white sharks with hands-on exhibits in a wonderful family-friendly outing.

In the spring of 2022, the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy opened up its Shark Center in Provincetown, a second location on Cape Cod (the first location is in Chatham).

This new attraction gives visitors an in-depth education and awareness of white sharks which have increased in population around Cape Cod in the past decade due to the increased population of gray seals.

Sharks are apex predators, and while they are feared by many humans, they provide a necessary role in maintaining balance in our oceans.

Educate yourself by perusing and interacting with a variety of exhibits throughout the Shark Center.

Of course, the media and movies like Jaws have instilled a certain level of fear in people. Hopefully, a visit to the Shark Center in Provincetown will set your mind at ease.
