Do you ever want to escape from everyone and everything, even just for a short time? The best thing we can do is head out into nature. But if we want to encounter as few people as possible, we’ll have to find a place that’s not well-known. Beech Forest Trail is a little-known trail in Massachusetts is one such place that’s never overcrowded, and, depending on what time of day you go, you may have it all to yourself!
The trailhead for Beech Forest Trail can be found at 36 Race Point Road. From Route 6, you’ll turn right onto Race Point Road and find the parking lot on the left about a half-mile down the road.
Beech Forest Trail is a picturesque one-mile loop that’s easy enough for most people to hike. It consists of the Beech Forest Trail that’s 0.75 miles in length and a 0.25-mile extension loop.
The trail will take you through a lovely beech forest and eventually past Beech Forest Pond. If you enjoy bird-watching, this is a great trail to spot migratory birds as well as other wildlife.
If you want to experience some solitude, you can do so during the quieter times of the day. You may have the whole trail to yourself! Now, doesn’t that sound like a wonderful escape?
Depending on the time of year, you must remember to take bug and tick spray. And don’t forget to bring a bottle of water. While this hike is rather short, you should still be prepared.
Dogs are not allowed on the Beech Forest Trail, so if you have a dog, please leave it at home.
