This Easy 1.5-Mile Trail In Maryland Features Stunning Wildflower Blooms In The Springtime
Spring is a wonderful time of year here in Maryland. Not only do the temperatures become warmer, but the landscape also transforms into a treasure trove of bright colors. For proof of this, look no further than the Anita C. Leight Estuary Center. Located on Otter Point Creek, this nature-filled destination is open year-round, but we think the warmer months, and especially springtime, make for the best time to visit.
Welcome to the lovely Anita C. Leight Estuary Center! This unique natural space measures 600 acres and is an important part of the Chesapeake Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve.
The center consists of a building with interactive displays and educational programs, walking trails, and a Nature Discovery Center.
During the warmer months, the center also becomes a treasure trove of beautiful and rare wildflowers.
Beginning in early March, beautiful flowers begin to emerge, ushering in several months of colorful blooms.
The springtime is perhaps the loveliest season of all, with snowdrops, azaleas, cherry blossoms, and more.
Don't forget to keep your eyes -- and ears -- open for beautiful springtime birds, such as the American robin.
So whether you consider yourself a naturalist or perhaps are drawn to colorful wildflowers, you'll cherish the time you spend at the Anita C. Leight Estuary Center.
