You've probably been to Druid Hill Park to visit the Maryland Zoo and had no idea that there was a secret waterfall hidden nearby.
The pathway to Round Falls is located right off Falls Road (you'll find the exact address at the bottom of this article). You can park under the bridge down the road and from there it's about a four-minute walk to the trailhead.
You'll know you're at the trailhead when you see this sign.
Walk down the little footpath and you'll soon see Round Falls.
There's a sizable viewing platform that's perfect if you want to sit and stay a while. You'll often find groups of friends hanging out, and cyclists that make this place a detour when biking along Jones Falls Trail.
The wooden platform gives you front-row views of Round Falls, which is a great little escape any time of year...
...especially during autumn.
The surrounding scenery isn't too shabby, either. It's hard to believe that this place is hiding in Baltimore City.
Next time you're in the area, keep Round Falls in mind. Though it's man-made, it's a stunning little spot to appreciate nature for a while.
