For those who want to pedal with a view of one of the most picturesque Maryland coastal bike trails, we'd highly recommend the Assateague National Seashore Bike Path. The paved bike path at Assateague Island measures a total of 9.4 miles and is dedicated to bikers and walkers. It's completely separate from vehicle traffic and promises absolutely breathtaking views.
Highlights include crossing the Verrazano Bridge and admiring the views of Sinepuxant Bay. Another highlight is catching glimpses of the aforementioned wild horses! While it may be tempting to get a close look at them, the park has a strict rule maintaining a distance of about 40 feet for everyone's safety, as the wild horses are known to kick and bite. You are also not allowed to feed them. Violation of these rules results in a minimum fine of $100.
