You can take a tour of the Crystal Grottoes Caverns, which has a very unique claim to fame: it's home to more formations per square foot than any other cave in the world. Really! You'll find the cave along Shepherdstown Pike in Boonsboro, Maryland.
It's the only show cave in Maryland and was first discovered by accident in 1920 after a construction crew was drilling for gravel. It opened to the public in 1922, and it's one of the most unique things to do in Maryland.

Crystal Grottoes tours is locally owned and operated. They're now in their fourth generation, continuing their passion for showing others this unique cave.
The cost is $20 for adults and $10 for children. Keep in mind that this spot is cash-only. Come prepared!
Tours last anywhere from 30-45 minutes, and your knowledgeable guide will explain everything there is to know about how the cave was formed, all of the different rooms within the cave, and more.
The inside of the caverns are a constant 54 degrees year-round. Be sure to bring a jacket.
