Located on the Maryand border, you'll spot the impressive Maryland Heights rock formation.
This natural wonder lies across the river from Harpers Ferry, West Virginia.
The hike to the top of Maryland Heights is a popular one, as the sights from the overlook are like no other view in the area.
Signs are easily labeled, showing where the the trail begins.
This 2.5-mile hike to the top is moderate, with some parts of the trail being bumpier or steeper than others.
Light shines through the towering trees, creating a glowing canopy effect.
You'll also find tidbits of Civil War history as you make your journey to the top.
When you finally reach the overlook, you're greeted with miraculous views of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia.
