Ford Park is one of northern Louisiana's favorite community parks. The park offers lovely views of Cross Lake, a disc golf course, tennis courts, a playground, and more. There's a walking track that's ideal for anyone looking to get some steps in while taking in the scenery, and we think you'll thoroughly enjoy this hiking trail in Shreveport, Louisiana.
You could easily spend an afternoon at Ford Park in Shreveport, Louisiana. There are two ballfields, two playgrounds, an 18-hole disc golf course, a fishing pier, and a boat launch. That pretty much covers all of your outdoor adventures! Even though this is one of the most popular parks in Shreveport, there are plenty of picnic tables peppered around the park, so it’s easy to find your own little corner. My suggestion? Bring some snacks to enjoy and fill up a cooler with ice and drinks—we all know how hot it can get in Louisiana, especially during summer. Speaking of, if you need to get out of the sun, there are bathroom facilities and covered picnic areas throughout the park.
Another highlight of Ford Park is the walking track. The walking track is a great opportunity to stroll through the park and take in the views. The 1.6-mile loop trail is easy enough for the whole family to complete—even dogs! Just be sure to keep them on a leash.
While much of the walking path winds through the trees, there's also a portion that hugs the lake and offers beautiful views of the water.
Sit for a spell and watch for wildlife! Turtles and birds are the most popular sightings, but you may catch a couple of deer coming out from the tree line if you’re lucky.
