Bundle Up And Experience The Sedgwick County Zoo This Season Like Never Before On Winter Wednesdays

">Money's tight, especially towards the end of the year. From purchasing new coats for the kids to Christmas presents for loved ones, it can feel like the budget has less and less room for entertainment throughout the winter. Luckily, we have a number of great cheap or free things to do in Kansas in the winter. One activity you can add to that list in winter 2023 is a visit to the zoo, thanks to Sedgwick County Zoo's Winter Wednesdays. This zoo in Wichita, KS is the top outdoor family attraction in the entire state, and it's such a blast. On December 20 and December 27, 2023, admission to the zoo is just $3 per ticket. This is such a great value for one of the best zoos in Kansas, and there's a lot to see here for adults and kids alike. Check it out:

The zoo is sometimes thought of as a warm-weather activity simply because it involves a lot of walking around outside.

However, I find it to be even more enjoyable in the wintertime.

It's certainly worth bundling up to get outdoors, whether it's a snow-filled day or one of our warmer winter days.

The animals often seem much more active when the temperatures are low.

After all, many of the critters here come from climes much colder than the Sunflower State!

The Sedgwick County Zoo is an AZA-accredited zoo that's been internationally-recognized for its conservation efforts.

Over 3,000 animals of 400 different species call this place home: there's a lot to see here!
