The 3.4-Mile Kill Creek Park Trail Trail Might Just Be The Most Enchanting Hike In Kansas
The Sunflower State isn't exactly the first place many people think of when they're dreaming of amazing hikes, but we have a surprising number of wonderful trails in Kansas. One of our favorites also happens to be the best hike in Olathe, KS: Kill Creek Park Trail. It's tucked away in Kill Creek Park, a quiet green space in Olathe. This is a wonderful trail and it's not too difficult, so it's easily managed by most hikers.
Kill Creek Park is an 897-acre park in Johnson County, near Olathe. There's a lot to do here, and you'll find more than 12 miles of trails for hiking, biking, and equestrian usage. There's also a swimming beach and marina.
The trail we're covering today is a 3.4-mile loop that encircles the northern part of the park.
The views here are beautiful, with space as far as the eye can see.
The route is actually made up of three separate trails: a connector trail, and the Hank and Eddie Trails.
Since the park has an extensive trail map, you can mix and match your hike to your liking. If you don't feel like heading out for a long trek, just take a shorter route.
This is such a fun hike, and it'll only take most hikers about an hour and a half, so it will be a good way to stretch your legs without going on an all-day trek.
