This roadside pick-your-own flower farm is the first of its kind in Iowa.

Farm owner Cathy Lafrenz supplies visitors with a gallon milk jug to fill with cut stems, and before you know it, you'll have several bouquets ready to assemble.

Choose from thousands of blooms in nearly every color you can imagine.

Each spring, Miss Effie's Country Flowers is home to more than 10,000 plants, and you're free to cut whatever your heart desires.

You can visit Miss Effie's Country Flowers Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m, and from noon to 3 p.m. on Sundays. The farm is located at 27387 130th Ave., Donahue, IA 52746, and they also sell farm fresh eggs along with local art, honey, and more.
