In Georgia, we have quite a few waterfalls that will seemingly transport you to a slice of paradise.
In fact, we recently wrote about the Marble Mine trail which has a small but beautiful waterfall cascading down a cliff. But this one hidden waterfall in a popular Georgia park has a true gem that might just have the bluest water in the state.
One of the most riveting state parks in Georgia is home to quite a few pockets of natural beauty no matter the season you visit.
Cloudland Canyon State Park has been drawing in crowds for years—from hikers to adventurists, families and those just looking to get away from it all.
While Georgia might not have many places in the state that has tropical-style blue water (Sorry, Georgians) we do have one spot in particular that has a truly rich blue water that is even brighter in person.
Cherokee Falls in Cloudland Canyon State Park is one of two stunning waterfalls in the area, but perhaps the most beautiful of them both.
Hikers looking to find the sapphire pool at the bottom of the falls will need to begin along a paved path and gradually descend down a 600-step staircase to access the points of the falls.
Despite the fact that the swirling pool of blue at the bottom of the falls looks worthy enough to take a dip, swimming is prohibited along the trails.
For those looking to make it a two-for-one hiking opportunity, Hemlock Falls is the other majestic falls within the area that is equally as beautiful, but just might not be quite as blue.
Guests to Cloudland Canyon can even make a weekend trip out of it with a few exciting yurts available for overnight camping.
It doesn’t matter if you’re an experienced hiker or someone simply looking for a little bit of an outdoor adventure, this waterfall trail makes for an excellent choice to get out and explore nature.
Hiking to Cherokee Falls is only about 0.3 miles from the trailhead, so it isn’t much of an extensive trail, but surely is a rewarding one.
Just make sure that while you’re enjoying the bluest water in the state, you’re also able to stop and enjoy a bit of the surrounding beauty, too.
