The Hidden Nature Park In Georgia With Its Very Own Rose Garden, Walking Path, And So Much More

Georgia is a very large state, which is great for various reasons! There's so much room to explore, and nature lovers have endless parks to discover and forge new adventures. However, the downside to that size is that it's easy for some places to fall through the cracks and not get the attention they deserve. There are so many underrated hidden gems in Georgia, from natural attractions like parks and gardens to delicious restaurants that seemingly few are familiar with. Cherokee Lake Park in Thomasville, GA, is one such hidden gem. It's quite popular with residents of this "City of Roses," but many outside the area aren't even aware that it exists. Check it out:

Cherokee Lake Park is a charming green space in one of the best towns in southwest Georgia.

You'll often have the opportunity to see ducks, geese, and turtles here.

The kid's playground is great for letting the little ones get some energy out.

There's also a 1.5-mile partially-shaded trail around the lake that offers up beautiful views. There's not much of an incline, and it's a great family-friendly stroll that won't take too long.

Thomasville is known as the "City of Roses" thanks to its long association with the flower.

At the park, you'll find the Thomasville Rose Garden, home to more than 500 rosebushes. The flowers bloom from roughly April to July each year, and it's quite a sight to see all these colorful beauties.

This is such an underrated park, and it's the perfect place to stretch your legs in beautiful Thomasville.
