A Short But Beautiful Hike, Fall Branch Falls Trail Leads To A Little-Known Waterfall In Georgia

We love long hikes, don't get us wrong, but sometimes you just don't have the time or energy for a long trek through the woods. If you're in the mood for a fairly easy hike in the Peach State with a big payoff, we've got just the waterfall trail in Georgia for you! The Fall Branch Falls Trail in Cherry Log will take you right to a little waterfall that is simply lovely. The best thing about this hike is that it's short and not too difficult, so it's manageable for kids and novice hikers or those who aren't in great shape! Many of the hikes in Georgia's mountain regions can be quite lengthy, so this one is a real treat. Check it out:
The entire Fall Branch Falls Trail is not even a mile long. Measuring about 0.9 miles, the trail takes a little under 30 minutes to complete in its entirety.
You'll need to watch your step, as there are some rocks and roots you'll want to avoid.
However, the trail is free of rocky scrambles or any seriously difficult areas.
Much of the trail is uphill, so even though it's short, you'll still get in a leg workout!
After just under a mile, you'll reach Fall Branch Falls. The falls are about 30 feet in height and tend to have a pretty strong flow year-round.
There are currently some yurts being constructed near the waterfall, so you'll soon be able to glamp in the area if you're a fan of camping in luxurious surroundings.
Even if you're only enjoying the area for the afternoon, it's a beautiful (and relatively quick) little excursion into nature.
There are plenty of nearby hikes to enjoy if you want to make the whole afternoon filled with exploration of the beautiful mountains in North Georgia.
To access the Fall Branch Falls Trail, park along Stanley Creek Road in Cherry Log. Note that swimming in the falls is prohibited, so these are best enjoyed from a distance!
