The Fall Foliage 2022 Prediction Map for Georgia created by Smoky Mountains is an interactive tool that lets people around the county learn when the prime time for leaf peeping will be.
By moving the tab on the map, Georgians can see when things will start to take shape in terms of fall color changes across the state.
Some people wonder "do the leaves change in Georgia?" And to that, we simply say: Yes.
Fall foliage will happen a bit later this year, but by the third week of October, most of the state should be seeing some fall colors. Photographed above is a beautiful scene from Gibbs Gardens in Ball Ground, Georgia.
Then, finally around the beginning of November, most of Georgia will experience prime-time viewing with peak to near-peak foliage.
Southern Georgia is typically a bit behind the rest of the state, but keep your eyes open for peak fall foliage in the first week of November!
Of course, while this tool is never going to be 100 percent accurate, (because let's face it, Mother Nature can be a wildcard), it is set to be one of the best predictions available. Anybody looking to take a road trip, or experience the peak of autumn in Georgia should see where they fall on the map for their area of the state.
Just be prepared for some of the most spectacular views this state has to offer.
