Summer is the perfect time to explore the Sunshine State. What better way to bask in the natural beauty of Florida than by visiting one of its state parks? Here's a park that has plenty to offer, and it's located in one Florida's most beautiful regions.
Blue Spring State Park is located in east central Florida, near Orange City.

This park includes 2,600 acres of spectacular scenery, and its spring is the largest on the St. John River.
The St. John's River provides a stunning scenic backdrop for the flora and fauna in this park.
Start by taking a stroll down the accessible boardwalk to the spring. The Blue Spring Trail is just a short, 10 minute walk, but it provides a nice introduction to the natural beauty here.
This is a particularly popular spot for kayaking - it's a great way to explore the park up close.
Between November and March, you'll see tons of manatees here - they're drawn by the warm 73-degree waters of the spring.
There's plenty of other wildlife here, too. Keep an eye out and have your camera ready!
Rent a tube and float from the spring to the main swimming dock.
The crystal clear waters of the river are also perfect for snorkeling and scuba.
Visit the Thursby House - a historic plantation home built in 1872.
Drop a line and see what you can catch. Fish are plentiful in the river here.
Camp overnight in one of 50 campsites. The RV/Tent sites have electricity and water, and cost just $24 per night.
