Needing a break from your day-to-day routine is normal, but have you tried going for a short hike? For a little stress relief in a green space, check out these connected nature trails near Detroit over at Stage Nature Center. Sometimes all you need is a breath of fresh air to help reset and calm your thoughts. This park is a great place to start!
Today's adventure will bring you out to Troy, Michigan, where a beautiful set of trails is connected to Stage Nature Center. Out here, finding peace in nature is as easy as taking the Sugar Maple, Blackbird, and Fox trails to find it.
The easy 1.7 miles pass by in no time, even if it takes you longer than the 33-minute average time to finish. After all, not everyone stops to enjoy bird-spotting or brings their family along for a fun day outdoors.
If you plan to bring younger kids along with you, the Sugar Maple Loop is the easiest trail in the park to handle. The trails aren't too difficult overall, but sometimes it's better to be prepared when you have little ones in tow.
Though you don't have to take all of the trails here, it's worth the extra time to hike through all of the beauty held in this 70-acre nature preserve. Plus, if you want, the attached 30-acre historical farm is a bonus.
If you have the patience, hiking during quieter times of the day may show you wildlife you wouldn't normally see out and about. Can you spot a forest friend in this photo that might have been hidden if it were busy here?
For this trail, you'll want to leave your four-legged friends at home. There are no pets allowed on the trail, and you'll need to make sure you leave nothing behind on your adventure. Not even fruit peels!
If you aren't feeling like Stage Nature Center is the one for you, you're in luck. Thankfully, there are a lot of things to do in nature in and around Detroit, including an overnight stay at a treehouse village that's not too far of a drive for a getaway you'll never forget.
