Burr Pond State Park spans 438 acres and is right next to Paugnut State Forest, meaning there's a massive sprawl of protected land to explore.
The park surrounds Burr Pond, an 85-acre man-made lake that's perfect for all kinds of recreation activities.
While much of the area around Burr Pond is rocky, there is a sandy beach area perfect for play.
Many opt to explore Burr Pond by kayak or boat.
Burr Pond is only about 13 feet deep at its deepest point
This place has a fascinating history. The world's first condensed milk factory was built here in 1857. The structures burned down in 1877, but you can still see the remains of the foundation.
