Are you desperately in need of some "nature therapy"? We've got just the place: Hidden Falls Regional Park. Aptly named for its numerous waterfalls, this park is the perfect escape from civilization.

Nestled in the Sierra Foothills near the town of Auburn, the park is spread out over 1,200 acres and contains roughly 30 miles of hiking trails.

There is a LOT to explore within the park, but the most notable feature is Hidden Falls itself. Seeing it should definitely be a priority. The trail to the falls is well-marked and easy to traverse, and you'll eventually end up at a lovely observation deck over the falls.

Located along Deadman Creek, the waterfall cascades down about 30 feet. It may not be the tallest but it's certainly stunning, especially when surrounded by all that greenery.

Next, you'll want to head to Canyon View Bridge. This gorgeous pedestrian bridge can also be found along the Hidden Falls Access Trail, just a few minutes after Hidden Falls.

You'll find that the park is comprised completely of undisturbed, pristine riparian habitat. With nothing to disturb your senses except the soft sounds of flowing water, it's easy to lose yourself in this incredibly tranquil environment.

The park also boasts sweeping views of the Sacramento Valley all the way to the Sutter Buttes. The rolling hills seem to go on forever, and you'll find yourself wishing you could stay here forever.

Hidden Falls Regional Park isn't exactly "hidden" anymore, but don't let the crowds scare you away from seeing this beautiful destination for yourself.

Keep in mind that parking reservations are required on weekends and other high-use days, so be sure to plan ahead.
