Get Up Close To Exotic Animals At This Immersive Sanctuary In Southern California
In my travels, I have learned a bit about the unfortunate treatment of many exotic animals, so when I hear about - or better yet, get to visit - an animal rescue that takes in and cares for these extraordinary creatures, it makes me happy. We have several such organizations here in SoCal and I just learned of another one that I think is worth a visit - Animal Tracks, an animal sanctuary in Agua Dulce, CA.
Animal Tracks provides a sanctuary for numerous animals, the majority of which are rescued from the exotic pet trade.
These amazing creatures have often not been treated well before, but here they are being offered a second chance at a good life. They are given proper care and a loving home at Animal Tracks.
This non-profit organization relies heavily on support from the community. It takes many volunteers to help care for the animals and educate visitors not just about the individual animals that are here, but about the real dangers and impact that we humans can have on wildlife.
There are a variety of ways to enjoy an immersive animal encounter. Public Group Experiences are 75 minutes long and may include up to 20 attendees.
Private 90-Minute experiences for 1 to 4 people are individualized to suit the interests of those participating and include more “behind the scenes” activities. Both of these experiences are open to all ages.
For the ultimate experience, especially great for people who may want to work in the field, Animal Tracks offers a 5-hour “Wildlife Educator” experience (must be 18 years of age or older), participating in the daily routines at the sanctuary! There are also 1-hour school field trips available.
All experiences include encounters with kangaroos, monkeys, and wolf hybrids, but you may also meet foxes, marmosets, porcupines, baboons, ferrets, groundhogs, and more.
For the safety of both animals and visitors, there is no touching of the animals, but you are guaranteed to get close enough to feel a connection and take some amazing photos, while keeping the encounters stress-free for the critters.
If you are an animal lover, this is an amazing place to visit. Find out more about the animals, experiences, and ways to support Animal Tracks, Inc. on its website or by following Animal Tracks on Facebook.
