Tucked along the banks of the Arkansas River, this 1,700-acre park is the largest municipal park in the state. And it’s a beautiful urban oasis filled with tons of recreation and amenities.

They include golf courses, soccer fields, BMX track, bike trails, tennis courts, camping, and so much more.

And of course, since 1957, it has been home to the Funland Amusement Park, an adorable theme park that is lots of fun for the little ones.

Additionally, this delightful park has paved and natural surface multi-use hiking trails, where you can enjoy scenic views of the Arkansas River valley area.

Another gem tucked inside the park is this tiny little log cabin that has been there before the Civil War.

And speaking of war, prior to becoming Burns Park, portions of the land was used for military training and there’s even a World War II tank inside the park.

This 85-foot bridge was built in 1972 and it’s among the longest covered bridges in the state.

There’s also a gazebo near the bridge that adds to its charm.

Both are surrounded with serene views, which makes them perfect for a lovely stroll through the park.
