Described as a “wildlife oasis in an agricultural sea,” Wapanocca NWR is surrounded by stunning bottomland hardwoods, a scenic lake, grasslands, as well as old-growth cypress swamps.

Located 15 miles outside of West Memphis in the Arkansas Delta near the mighty Mississippi, the 5,500-acre refuge serves as a sanctuary for migrating and wintering waterfowl, turtles, along with other reptiles.
