Few People Know There’s A Mystical Grotto Hidden Inside The Ozark National Forest In Arkansas

Certainly, by now you have witnessed many of Arkansas’ enchanting natural wonders. But there’s a hidden mystical grotto tucked inside the Ozark National Forest that very few people have seen. And the 1-mile hike to this magical cavern will leave you awestruck and mesmerized. So, grab those hiking boots and embark on this whimsical adventure.

Nestled inside the Ozark National Forest is Pam’s Grotto, a cavern with a 37-foot-high waterfall near Haw Creek Falls Recreational Area.

The moderately challenging trail is kid-friendly and dog-friendly, so the entire family can enjoy this whimsical adventure.

The hike to the grotto is short but considered a bit challenging in some areas.

But it’s filled with tons of magical foliage, running creeks, and jaw-dropping rock formations.

So, there’s plenty to see as you traverse through the mountains.

On the trail, you’ll encounter an uphill ascend and then it levels off along the bluff lines.

As you meander past the bluff lines, you will be amazed as they tower high above your head.

When you get closer to the grotto, you’ll have to climb over the massive boulders to get to the opening of the cavern and waterfall.

This is perhaps the most difficult part of the trail. So, help the kids and the pups cross over the boulders.

But once you clear the boulders, be amazed at the mystical hidden grotto.

The waterfall flowing from the top at the opening, adds to the magic of it all. It’s absolutely breathtaking!

While the view from outside the grotto is spectacular, you’ll be awestruck when you step inside the cavern behind the waterfall.

And to add to this whimsical experience, you can run through the falls or splash around inside the pool at the bottom.
