And indeed they are because they’re moderately easy hikes with incredible rewards. But have you heard of Collins Creek Trail in Heber Springs? This family-friendly trail in Heber Springs, Arkansas leads to a gorgeous waterfall, splashing pools, a playground, and more. And best of all, the kids will love it.

Heber Springs is tucked neatly at the foothills of the Ozark Mountains and it's home to one of the most serene hiking trails in Arkansas.

The Collins Creek trailhead is located off Hatchery Road, and it’s an easy 1.2-mile out and back trail that is perfect for the entire family.

This dog and kid-friendly trail has a natural and well-maintained surface and can be easily completed by hikers of all levels.

It’s filled with lots of picturesque views like towering trees, flowing creeks, waterfalls, and more. So, be sure to bring your camera with you to capture the beautiful scenery.

The trailhead starts off flat with no significant change in elevation, and it’s surrounded by a canopy of trees that’s perfect for shading during the summer months.

Within the first few minutes of your trek, you’ll encounter the gorgeous cascades.

The waterfall is fed from a man-made pipe that was built after the damming of Greers Ferry Lake. So, it’s guaranteed that the falls will flow for most of the year.

Of course, the kids will have fun hopping across the rocks. Be sure that they have water shoes for this adventure.

Though the water is chilly year-round due to the trout population, the small pools are great for splashing around.

The trail then meanders along the creek and there is plenty to see and explore along the way.

The creek is filled with lots of rocks, and there are also other tiny cascades that you will see as you continue to trek.

Along the way, you’ll come across this massive tree log that you can walk across, as well as a foot bridge over the creek.

And they’re great areas for some more photo ops.

If you’re up for more hiking, the trail continues down to the Little Red River. While the river is great for getting your feet wet, please be aware of the rising waters from the release of the dam.
