Arizona might be landlocked, but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy the beach! Without ever leaving the city, Tempe Beach Park boasts a sandy path that leads to the most gorgeous waterfront views.
For nearly 100 years, Tempe Beach Park has been the go-to outdoor hangout spot for residents of the city.
Spanning 25 acres, this lakefront destination features a splash pad, volleyball courts, water recreation activities, and trails for hiking and biking.
Tempe Town Lake Trail is a 5.7-mile, leisurely stroll that hugs the waterfront.
Most of the hike is paved, but sandy areas interspersed throughout allow visitors to enjoy a beach day despite Arizona being a landlocked state.
Via two pedestrian bridge, you'll enjoy opposing perspectives of the deep blue oasis.
Since the trail is a loop, don't worry about getting lost -- you'll end up right back where you started!
Bikes, paddle boards, boats, and kayaks are available for rent along the way.
No matter how you choose to experience the park, rest-assured it'll be an adventure the whole family will never forget.
While the nearest real beach is an entire state away, we have the next best thing right here.
It may not be a tropical paradise, but we love it all the same.
Though you can't tell from this picture, the bridges are even more beautiful at night.
Illuminated in a multicolored display that reflects on the water, it's a scene worth bearing witness to at least once.
Who knew such a peaceful respite was hiding right here in the city?
Waterfront hikes are hard to come by in the valley, so we couldn't be more grateful.
