This Haunted Cave In Arizona Has A Dark And Deadly History

Apache Death Cave in Arizona is considered one of the most haunted places due to its dark history and eerie atmosphere.

When you visit the "Apache Death Cave" in Arizona, you might get this eerie feeling that it's haunted. Many people believe the dark history of the cave gives it this otherworldly energy. Others feel it's a sacred place that should remain undisturbed. Which do you think is the case (or maybe something else)? You'll have to check it out for yourself, and see why some people adamantly insist that it's one of the most haunted places in Arizona.

The Apache Death Cave is located in the ghost town of Two Guns, Arizona along Route 66. We'll give you a little history lesson about how the cave got its name.

In 1878, Apache raiders invaded a Navajo settlement and killed everyone aside from three girls in the camp. Other Navajo leaders attempted to hunt down the Apaches who mercilessly killed most of their tribe.

After searching for a while, the Navajo leaders discovered that Apache raiders were living in an underground cave. They then set the cave on fire and killed 42 Apaches, which is where the name of the cave comes from.

Two Guns actually closed permanently in the 1970s because of a fire. Perhaps the area really is destined for darkness.

If you want to go inside the cave, prepare for some tight spaces like this one. Not for the faint of heart! Just looking at this image gives us the creeps. Definitely getting the haunted vibes.

This looks like something straight out of Ghost Adventures. Many Native Americans believe the land is cursed and don't get anywhere near it. Locals tell visitors to steer clear of the land as well.

You can visit the cave all year and the best part is, it's open 24 hours a day. So, if you want the most spooky experience, definitely come after dark — but bring a buddy (and a flashlight) with you just in case. It looks absolutely beautiful at night!
