What could be more pleasant that a walk in a field of flowers? In Alaska in the summer, the gentle rain and the midnight sun encourage the land to blossom with color. A wide variety of natural wild flowers spring up along paths, rivers and forrests. From bright pops of hot pink wild roses to cheerful yellow dandelions to the firey swaths of fireweed, Alaskan wildflowers are a beautiful natural decoration on the already amazing scenery. In Denali National Park and Preserve, there is a beautiful trail covered in wildflowers called the Triple Lakes Trail.

The Triple Lakes trail is an excellent hike for a picnic with a view. All summer you can enjoy the bright pops of wildflowers along the path and the meadow at the end of the 5 mile hike.

Arnica and Lupine cover meadows with thick, beautiful patches of color.

Fireweed is a signature Alaskan flower. This bright fuchsia flower pops up in disturbed ground all over, especially after a forest fire.

Mountain Forget-me-not (Eritrichium aretioides) is the State Flower of Alaska. The tiny blue flowers with golden yellow enters are the same color as the blue and gold of the state flag, as well.
